The TACTICOS Combat Management System (CMS) is the heart of Naval Combat Systems for numerous Navies around the world. The integration track record proves that TACTICOS is adaptable to customer requirements and that it can serve of many naval vessels ranging from fast patrol boats up to frigate size.

Key capabilities of TACTICOS include surveillance and picture compilation using the on-board sensors and tactical data links. Anti Air Warfare, Anti Submarine Warfare and Electronic Warfare are supported by threat evaluation, manual and automatic sensor and weapon assignment and kill assessment. Further support services include decision making support, planning tools, built-in training and maintenance support.

Technically, TACTICOS is characterised by a distributed real-time database for real-time data and a component-based architecture using COTS hardware and operating systems. The openness of architecture allows seamless integration with applications like Jane’s, IRIS Message Handling and Command Support software like GCCS-M and MCCIS. The scalability of the architecture makes TACTICOS extremely suitable for use on Naval vessels ranging from patrol boat to frigate size and allows for addition of COTS hardware when required without adapting the existing system.

Currently, new applications have been implemented to allow TACTICOS to grow into the Network Centric Warfare arena. Improved situation awareness using true multi-sensor data fusion, automatic recognition and identification capabilities and all tactical data-links. Information from the Recognised Maritime Picture can be fused with the local area picture. Force level and own ship threat assessment, decision support and coordination for all warfare areas enable optimum protection of the complete task force. Extended training facilities enable improved interoperability suing the High Level Architecture as world standard. Mission Planning and Control facilities enable mission planning using received orders as input. The mission planning database is filled automatically, and the CMS can be automatically configured according to the current. Extensive state-board display facilities are available.

TACTICOS is fit for evolution ensuring existing customers backward compatibility and upgrade-ability and providing new customers with the most modern and proven CMS available.

TACTICOS is operational in more than 15 Navies world-wide, at more than 150 naval vessels.
